Hello! I’m Zach, a Chicago-based, story-driven journalist invested in covering pro sports not just for the sake of sport itself, but to explore and profile the backgrounds of the people – not just athletes – that are intertwined with them. Within sports, as a journalist I hope to highlight the life and value of peoples’ stories, particularly those that work as the halos to the stars.

All sports appeal to me in some way, but I’ve always been most drawn to basketball. My journalistic “dream” would be to make a name for myself in NBA coverage, but the chance to write a game log for a high school team in North Dakota would give me the same joy.
